About Our Founder
The fun and excitement in seeing a beautiful garden emerge from an empty or neglected space makes this a really fun occupation. This is a second career for me, adding a new dimension of creativity and the opportunity to spend more time outdoors with my hands in the dirt.
After 20 years of gardening as a hobby, I enrolled in the Landscape Design program at The George Washington University School of Professional Studies. The program offers classes in landscape drawing, basic design concepts , site analysis, plant design and many hours at the local gardens learning about the most beautiful plants of our region. Three years of night school later I graduated with a graduate certificate in Landscape Design.
Most homeowners who call me for help designing their gardens have been referred by a satisfied client. Whether I help you get started on an intimate patio garden or create a master plan for your entire property, Wild Ginger will work together with you to design the landscape you can only imagine.
My wife and I are looking for a design for our backyard. We have lots of ideas but keep going back and forth on what to do including adding a rain garden, patio or expanding our deck. We are hoping to create a global plan so that we can take on a small project at a time but work towards our goal. Please let us know if you would be interested.
